And they were gathered to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured out before Jehovah. And they fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against Jehovah. And Samuel judged the sons of Israel in Mizpeh.

Channels of waters go down from my eyes, for they do not keep Your Law.

My tears have been my food by day and by night, while they say to me all the day, Where is your God?

I am weary in my groaning; I shall make my bed swim in all the night; I melt my couch with my tears.

Trust in Him at all times, you people, pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.

For after I had turned away, I repented; and after I knew, I slapped on my thigh. I was ashamed; yea, I also was shamed, because I lifted up the reproach of my youth.

And it happened in the fifth year of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, they called a fast before Jehovah, to all the people of Jerusalem, and to all the people who came from the cities of Judah to Jerusalem.

Oh, that my head were waters and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

And my eyes are at an end with tears, my bowels ferment; my liver is poured on the ground for the ruin of the daughter of my people, in the fainting of children and sucklings in the broad places of the city.

My eye flows out and does not cease, from there not being any ceasing,

The crown has fallen from our head. Woe now to us, for we have sinned!

Will you judge them, will you judge, son of man? Cause them to know the disgusting things of their fathers.

Hear this, O priests, and attend, house of Israel. And give ear, house of the king. For the judgment is toward you, because you have been a snare to Mizpeh, and a net spread on Tabor.

Yet even now turn to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with wailing, a statement of Jehovah.

And it shall be for a never-ending statute, in the seventh month, in the tenth of the month, you shall humble yourself and do no work, the native, and the alien who is staying in your midst.

And if they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their unfaitthful act with which they have acted unfaithfully against Me; and, also, that they have walked contrary to Me,

Rising up, I will go to my father, and I will say to him, Father, I sinned against Heaven and before you,

and Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,

And the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah, saying, We have sinned against You, even because we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baals.

And the sons of Israel said to Jehovah, We have sinned. Do to us whatever may be good in Your eyes; only please deliver us this day.

And it happened when the Angel of Jehovah spoke these words to all the sons of Israel, the people lifted up their voice and wept.

And the sons of Israel went up and wept before Jehovah until the evening, and asked of Jehovah, saying, Shall I again draw near to battle with the sons of my brother Benjamin? And Jehovah said, Go up against him.

And all the sons of Israel went up, even all the people, and came to Beth-el, and wept. And they sat there before Jehovah, and fasted on that day until the evening, and caused burnt offerings and peace offerings to ascend before Jehovah.

And the Spirit of Jehovah was put on him, and he judged Israel. And he went out to war, and Jehovah gave Chushanrishathaim the king of Mesopotamia into his hand. And his hand had power over Chushan-rishathaim.

And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord; I am a woman pained in spirit. And I have not drunk wine or fermented drink, but I am pouring out my soul before Jehovah.

And Samuel summoned the people to Jehovah, to Mizpeh.

And they cried to Jehovah and said, We have sinned, for we forsook Jehovah and served the Baals and the Ashtaroth, but now deliver us from the hand of our enemies and we will serve You.

And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
