1 Samuel 7:3

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

And Samuel said to all the house of Israel, saying, If you are returning to Jehovah with all your heart, put aside the gods of the foreigner from among you, and the Ashtaroth. And prepare your heart to Jehovah, and serve Him only, and He will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

For Jehovah searches out all hearts, and He understands every imagination of thoughts. If you shall seek Him, He shall be found by you. But if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.

But good things have been found with you, for you have burned the Asherahs out of the land, and have fixed your heart to seek God.

God is spirit, and the ones worshiping Him must worship in spirit and truth.

You shall walk after Jehovah your God, and you shall fear Him. And you shall keep His commandments, and you shall hear His voice, and you shall serve Him, and you shall cling to Him.

But when you shall seek Jehovah your God from there, then you shall find Him, if you seek Him with your whole heart, and with all your soul,

Yea, they forsook Jehovah, and served Baal and the Ashtoroth.

And they put his weapons in the house io Ashtaroth, and they fastened his body on the wall of Beth-shan.
