And the cart had come to the field of Joshua of Beth-shemesh, and stood there. And there was a great stone. And they cut the wood of the cart, and they offered the heifers as a burnt offering to Jehovah.

And Gad came in to David on that day and said to him, Go up, raise up an altar to Jehovah in the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

And Araunah said to David, Let my lord the king take and offer up that which is good in his eyes. Behold, the oxen for a burnt offering, and the threshing instruments, for the yokes of the oxen for wood.

And David built an altar there to Jehovah, and offered burnt offering and peace offerings. And Jehovah was entreated for the land; and the plague was stayed from Israel.

And he returned from after him, and took the pair of oxen, and sacrificed them, and boiled their flesh with the yoke of the oxen, and gave to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and went after Elijah and ministered to him.

You shall make an altar of earth for Me, and you shall sacrifice your burnt offerings and your peace offerings on it, your sheep and your cattle. In every place in which I cause My name to be remembered, I will come to you and will bless you.

And it happened on the next day, the people rose early and built an altar there, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.

And you shall build an altar to Jehovah your God on the top of this stronghold, in an arrangement, and shall take the second bull and offer a burnt offering with the wood of the Asherah which you have cut down.

And, behold, Saul came behind the oxen from the field. And Saul said, What is it to the people, that they weep? And they related to him the words of the men of Jabesh.

And he said, Please send me away, for a family sacrifice is to us in the city, and my brother commanded me. And now, if I have found favor in your eyes, please let me be released, and to see my brothers. On account of this he has not come to the table of the king.

And those of Beth-shemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley. And they lifted up their eyes and saw the ark, and rejoiced to see it.

and the golden mice, the number of all the cities of the Philistines, for the five rulers, from the fortified city even to the hamlet of the villagers, even to the great meadow on which they placed the ark of Jehovah remain until this day in the field of Joshua of Beth-shemesh.
