And David was greatly distressed, for the people said to stone him. For the soul of the people was bitter, each man for his sons and for his daughters. And David made himself strong in Jehovah his God.

And Jacob was afraid, and he was very distressed. And he divided the people with him, and the flocks, and the herds, and the camels, into two camps.

In my distress I called on Jehovah and I cried to my God; He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry went before Him, into His ears.

The troubles of my heart are enlarged; O bring me out from my straits.

Hope in Jehovah; be strong and He will make strong your heart; yea, hope in Jehovah!

Be strong, and He will make your heart stronger, all you who hope in Jehovah.

O my soul, why are you cast down? And why do you moan within me? Hope in God, for I yet thank Him for the salvations of my face and my God.

O my soul, why are you cast down and moan within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet thank Him for the salvations of His presence.

Deep calls to deep through the voice of Your waterfalls; all Your breakers and Your waves have passed over me.

And the people, the men of Israel, made themselves strong, and again set the battle in order in the place where they set themselves on the first day.

And she was bitter of soul, and prayed to Jehovah, and weeping she wept.

And Jonathan the son of Saul rose up and went out to David, to the forest. And he made his hand strong in God,

And Samuel said to Saul, Why have you disturbed me, to bring me up? And Saul said, Much distress is to me, and the Philistines are fighting against me, and God has turned from me and has not answered me any more, either by the hand of the prophets, or by dreams. And I called for you to make known to me what I should do.
