And it happened when David and his men came to Ziklag on the third day, the Amalekites had raided to the Negeb, even to Ziklag, and had struck Ziklag and burned it with fire.

And Isaac had come from the gate of the Well of the Living One, My Beholder. And he was dwelling in the land of the Negeb.

And it happened, after the dying of Saul, David returned from striking the Amalekites; and David remained in Ziklag two days.

And it happened in the third day, behold, a man came in out of the camp from Saul. And his garments were torn, and earth on his head. And it happened as he came to David, he fell to the earth and bowed himself.

And he said to me, Who are you? And I said, I am an Amalekite.

And all his servants were passing on by his side, and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men who came at his feet from Gath. These were passing on before the king.

And they helped David against the raiding band, for they all were mighty ones of strength; and they were commanders in the army;

for at the time they came daily to David, to help him, until it was a great army, like an army of God.

and they took all the men and went to fight with Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah. And they found him by the many waters that are in Gibeon.

And Jehovah said to Joshua, Do not fear before them, for about this time tomorrow I will give all of them up wounded before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.

And Saul struck Amalek from Havilah, as you go to Shur, which is before Egypt.

And he captured Agag the king of Amalek alive. But he completely destroyed all the people with the mouth of the sword.

And Achish gave Ziklag to him in that day. Therefore, Ziklag has been counted to the kings of Judah until this day.

And now, you and the servants of your lord who have come with you, you rise early in the morning, and light is to you, then go.

And David rose up early, he and his men, to go in the morning, to return to the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.

And the Philistine leaders were angry against him. And the Philistine leaders said to him, Send the man back, and he shall return to his place there where you have appointed him. And he shall not go down with us into battle, and shall not become an adversary to us in battle. And with what should this one give pleasure to his master, if not with the heads of these men?

We raided the south of the Cherethites, and went against that belonging to Judah, and against the south of Caleb. And we burned Ziklag with fire.
