And they brought Ishbosheth’s head to David in Hebron, and said to the king, Behold, the head of Ishbosheth the son of your enemy Saul, who sought your life. And may Jehovah give to my lord the king vengeance this day, on Saul and on his seed.
And David was dwelling in the wilderness, in the strongholds. And he was dwelling in the hill, in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him all his days. And God did not give him into his hand.
And Saul camped in the hill of Hachilah which is on the face of the desert, by the way. And David was dwelling in the wilderness. And he saw that Saul had come after him into the wilderness.
