And David rose up in the morning; and the Word of Jehovah came to Gad the prophet, the seer of David’s, saying,

And he struck Moab, and measured them with a line; making them to lie down on the ground. And he measured two lines to cause them to die, and the fulness of the line to keep alive. And the Moabites were slaves to David, bearing a gift.

And David was then in the stronghold, and the command post of the Philistines was then in Beth-lehem.

And some of the sons of Benjamin and Judah came to the stronghold of David.

And Jehovah spoke to Gad, the seer of David, saying,

And the acts of David the king, the first and the last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,

And he made stand the Levites in the house of Jehovah with cymbals, with harps, and with lyres, by the command of David, and of Gad, the seer of the king, and of Nathan the prophet; for the command was by the hand of Jehovah, by the hand of His prophets.

And I said, Should such a man as I flee? And who being as I am would go into the temple and live? I will not go in.

To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. I sought refuge in Jehovah; how can you say to my soul, Flee like a bird to your hill.

But when they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For truly I say to you, not will you have finished the cities of Israel, not until the Son of Man comes.

And David went from there to Mizpeh of Moab. And he said to the king of Moab, Please let my father and my mother come and be with you, until I know what God will do to me.

And Gad the prophet said to David, You shall not remain in the stronghold. Go, and you come into the land of Judah. And David went and came into the forest of Hareth.
