And David went out wherever Saul sent him. And he acted wisely. And Saul set him over the men of war. And it was good in the eyes of all the people, and also in the eyes of the servants of Saul.

There was no looking of the warden of the prison house to anything in his hand, in that Jehovah was with him, and Jehovah was prospering what he was doing.

And Jehovah was with Judah, and he dispossessed the hills, but did not dispossess the ones living in the valley, for they had chariots of iron.

And Saul chose for himself three thousand out of Israel. And two thousand were with Saul in Michmash, and in the hills of Bethel. And a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin. And he sent the rest of the people each man to his tent.

And the war was strong against the Philistines all the days of Saul. And when Saul saw any mighty man, or any son of strength, even he gathered him to himself.

And all Israel and Judah loved David, for he went out and came in before them.

And the rulers of the Philistines came out. And it happened as often as they came out, David acted more wisely than all the servants of Saul; and his name was greatly esteemed.

And Jonathan stripped off the robe that was on him and gave it to David; also his apparel, even to his sword and to his bow and to his belt.

And it happened as they came in, as David returned from striking the Philistine, the women came out from all the cities of Israel to sing, and dancing to meet Saul the king with tambourines and with joy and three-stringed instruments.

And Samuel grew up, and Jehovah was with him, and did not let any of his words fall to the earth.
