And the rulers of the Philistines came out. And it happened as often as they came out, David acted more wisely than all the servants of Saul; and his name was greatly esteemed.

And it happened at the turn of the year, at the time when messengers go out, David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel. And they destroyed the sons of Ammon, and lay siege to Rabbah. But David abode at Jerusalem.

And I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you and have made you a great name, like the name of the great men who are on the earth.

And he turned and sent a third commander of fifty and his fifty. And the third commander of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and begged him, and said to him, O man of God, please let my life and the life of your servants, these fifty, be precious in your eyes.

Precious in the eyes of Jehovah is the death of His godly ones.

I have acted more wisely than all my teachers; for Your testimonies are a meditation to me.

A man shall be praised according to his prudence, but he who is of a perverse heart shall be despised.

And in any matter of wisdom and understanding that the king asked from them, he found them ten hands better than all the magicians and the conjurers who were in all his kingdom.

For I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all the ones opposing you will not be able to speak against nor withstand.

Then watch how carefully you walk, not as unwise, but as wise ones,

to whom having drawn near, a living Stone, indeed having been rejected by men, but chosen by God, precious;

Therefore to you, the ones believing, belongs the preciousness. But to disobeying ones, He is the “Stone which the ones building rejected; this One became the Head of the Corner,” Psa. 118:22

And Saul was still more afraid of David; and Saul was hating David continually.

And David went out wherever Saul sent him. And he acted wisely. And Saul set him over the men of war. And it was good in the eyes of all the people, and also in the eyes of the servants of Saul.

And there was war again. And David went out and fought against the Philistines, and struck among them with a great slaughter; and they fled from his face.

So says Jehovah the God of Israel, I said indeed that your house and your father’s house should walk before Me until forever. But now, a statement of Jehovah, Be it far from Me! For those who honor Me I will honor, and those despising Me will be despised.

And Saul said, I have sinned. Return, my son David, for I shall not do evil to you any more, instead of which my life has been precious in your eyes today. Behold, I have acted foolishly, and I have erred exceedingly much.

And behold, as your life has been highly esteemed in my eyes today, so let my soul be highly esteemed in the eyes of Jehovah, and may He deliver me out of all distress.
