And the Philistines stood on the mountain on this side, and Israel stood on the mountain on this side, and the valley between them.

And he taunted Israel; and Jonathan, the son of David’s brother Shimeah, struck him.

And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered, and camped in the valley of Elah. And they set in order for battle to meet the Philistines.

And a man between the two came out from the armies of the Philistines, Goliath was his name, from Gath; his height was six cubits and a span.
