And Saul took the kingdom over Israel, and fought against all his enemies all around, with Moab, and with the sons of Ammon, and with Edom, and with the kings of Zobah, and with the Philistines, and wherever he turned, he gained the victory.

And the first-born bore a son and called his name Moab; he is the father of Moab to this day.

And the younger also bore a son and called his name Ben-ammi; he is the father of the sons of Ammon to this day.

And these are the generations of Esau; that is, Edom.

These were the sons of Esau, and these their chiefs; he is Edom.

And Esau dwelt on Mount Seir. Esau is Edom.

It was one year since Saul began to reign, and he reigned two more years over Israel.

And Saul went up from following the Philistines. And the Philistines went to their own place.

And the war was strong against the Philistines all the days of Saul. And when Saul saw any mighty man, or any son of strength, even he gathered him to himself.

And a man was there on that day, of the servants of Saul, detained before Jehovah. And his name was Doeg the Edomite, the chief of the shepherds which were to Saul.
