And Saul chose for himself three thousand out of Israel. And two thousand were with Saul in Michmash, and in the hills of Bethel. And a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin. And he sent the rest of the people each man to his tent.

And a man of worthlessness met them there, and his name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a man of Benjamin. And he blew the rams’ horn and said, We have no part in David, and we have no inheritance in the son of Jesse; each man to his tents, O Israel.

Let be given to us seven men of his sons to us. And we will expose them to Jehovah in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of Jehovah. And the king said, I will deliver them.

Heleb the son of Baanah, of Netophath; Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah, of the sons of Benjamin;

The men of Michmas, a hundred and twenty-two.

And the sons of Benjamin from Geba were at Michmash; and Aija; and Bethel, and their daughter-villages;

and Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem, Gibeath, and Kirjathjearim; fourteen villages. This is the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin, by their families.

And Joshua blessed them and sent them away. And they went to their tents.

And his master said to him, Let us not turn to the city of alien men that is not of the sons of Israel, but we shall pass over to Gibeah.

And Saul also went to his house, to Gibeah, and with him went the force whose hearts God had touched.

Afterward you will come to the hill of God where there is a garrison of the Philistines. And it will happen as you come there to the city even you will meet a band of prophets going down from the high place; and before them will be a harp, and a tambourine, and a flute, and a lyre. And they will be prophesying.

It was one year since Saul began to reign, and he reigned two more years over Israel.

And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattering from me, and you did not come in the days set out, and the Philistines were gathering at Michmash,

And Samuel rose up and went up from Gilgal to Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people who were found with him, about six hundred men.

And Saul and his son Jonathan, and the people who were found with them, were dwelling in Gibeah of Benjamin; and the Philistines pitched in Michmash.

And the garrison of the Philistines went out to the pass of Michmash.

And the Philistines gathered to fight with Israel, with thirty thousand chariots and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the lip of the sea for multitude. And they came up and pitched in Michmash, east of Bethaven.

And they struck the Philistines on that day from Michmash to Aijalon; but the people were very weak.

The one crag was a pillar on the north in front of Michmash, and the one on the south in front of Gibeah.

And the war was strong against the Philistines all the days of Saul. And when Saul saw any mighty man, or any son of strength, even he gathered him to himself.

And Samuel went to Ramah, and Saul went up to his house, in Gibeah of Saul.

And on the way he came in to the folds of the flock. And there was a cave. And Saul went in to cover his feet. And David and his men were staying in the recesses of the cave.

And Saul rose up and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, and three thousand men were with him, chosen ones of Israel, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.

And he said, This will be the privilege of the king who shall reign over you. He shall take your sons and shall appoint them for himself among his chariots, and among his horsemen. And they shall run before his chariots.
