And her husband Elkanah said to her, Hannah, why do you weep? And why do you not eat? And why is your heart afflicted? Am I not better to you than ten sons?

And Hazael said, Why is my lord weeping? And he said, Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons of Israel. You will send their fortified places into fire and you will slay their young men with the sword. And you will dash their sucklings to pieces; and you will rip up their pregnant women.

To the despairing one, pity is due from his friend; for he forsakes the fear of the Almighty.

Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, the joy of my delight, and I will thank with the lyre, O God, my God.

Sing out, barren one who never bore; break out a song and shout, you who never brought forth. For the sons of the desolate one are more than the sons of the married woman, says Jehovah.

For Jehovah has called you as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, even a wife of young men when she is refused, says your God.

And those ones say to her, Woman, why do you weep? She says to them, Because they took away my Lord, and I do not know where they put Him.

Jesus says to her, Woman, why do you weep? Whom do you seek? Thinking that it was the gardener, she says to Him, Sir, if You carried Him away, tell me where You put Him, and I will take Him away.

And we exhort you, brothers, to admonish the disobedient ones, comfort the ones being faint-hearted, sustain the ones being weak, be long-suffering towards all.

And may he be to you a restorer of life, and a nourisher of your old age, for your daughter-in-law who loves you has borne him, who is better to you than seven sons.

And so he did year by year, as often as she went up to the house of Jehovah, so she provoked her. And she wept, and did not eat.
