1 Kings 20:28

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

And a man of God came near to the king of Israel and said, So says Jehovah, Because the Syrians have said, Jehovah is God of the hills and not God of the valleys, therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am Jehovah.

And Joab and the people who were with him drew near to battle against the Syrians; and they fled before him.

And, behold, a man of God had come from Judah to Beth-el, by the Word of Jehovah, and Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense.

And she said to Elijah, What have I to do with you, O man of God? Have you come to me to cause my iniquity to be remembered, and to cause my son to die?

And it happened at the going up of the offering that Elijah the prophet came near and said, O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known today that You are God in Israel, and I Your servant, that by Your Word I have done all these things.

Answer me, O Jehovah, answer me; and this people shall know that You are Jehovah God; and You have turned their hearts back again.

And behold, one prophet came near to Ahab the king of Israel, and said, So says Jehovah, Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold I am giving it into your hand today, and you shall know that I am Jehovah.

And they pitched, these over against those, seven days. And it happened in the seventh day, the battle came up. And the sons of Israel struck Syria, a hundred thousand footmen in one day.

And they spoke against the God of Jerusalem as against the gods of the peoples of the land, the work of the hands of man.

Jehovah of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is a refuge for us. Selah.

Why should the nations say, Where is their God? Let Him be known among the nations before our eyes, the avenging of the blood of Your servants that has been poured out.

I have heard the murmurings of the sons of Israel. Speak to them, saying, Between the evenings you shall eat flesh; and in the morning you shall be satisfied with bread; and you shall know that I am Jehovah your God.

And I will take you to Myself for a people, and I will be to you for God. And you shall know that I am Jehovah your God, the One bringing you out from under the burdens of Egypt.

And the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah when I send forth My hand on Egypt and bring out the sons of Israel from their midst.

And in that day I will separate the land of Goshen with My people resting on it, that there be no swarms of flies, so that you may know that I am Jehovah in the midst of the earth.

Who among all the gods of these lands has delivered their land out of my hand, that Jehovah should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?

O Jehovah, though our iniquities testify against us, act for Your name’s sake; for our apostasies are many; we have sinned against You.

and you shall know that I am Jehovah in whose statutes you have not walked, and My judgments you have not done; yea, as the judgments of the nations who are round about you, you have done.

But of them I will leave a number of mankind from the sword, from the famine, and from the plague, so that they may declare all their disgusting things among the nations, there where they go. And they shall know that I am Jehovah.

But I worked for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the eyes of the nations, of whom I brought them out, in their eyes.

But I worked for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the eyes of the nations of whom they were among them, of whom I made Myself known to them in their eyes, by bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

Let it be known to you that I am not doing this for your sake, a statement of the Lord Jehovah; be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.

And I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel. And I will not let My holy name be profaned any more. And the nations shall know that I am Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel.

And I will stretch out My hand on them and give the land a to be a desolation even more desolate than the desert toward Diblath, in all their dwelling places. And they shall know that I am Jehovah.

You have not eaten bread, and you have not drunk wine or fermented liquor, so that you might know that I am Jehovah your God.

saying, Were it not the provocation of an enemy I feared, that their foes should judge amiss, that they might not say, Our hand is high, and Jehovah has not done all this.
