You shall be merciful to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and they shall be among those eating at your table, for so they drew near to me when I fled from the face of your brother Absalom.

But make mention of me along with yourself, when it is well with you; and please do kindness with me and mention me to Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house.

Do not forsake your friend, and your father’s friend, and do not go into your brother’s house in the day of your calamity, for a near neighbor is better than a brother at a distance.

And he changed his prison garments, and he ate bread before his face continually the day of his death, all the days of his life.

Blessed are those slaves whom the lord will find awake when he comes. Truly I say to you that he will gird himself and will make them recline, and coming near he will serve them.
