King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

And Elijah the Tishbite, of the sojourners of Gilead, said to Ahab, As Jehovah the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be no dew nor rain these years, except according to my word.

And she said, As Jehovah your God lives, I do not have a cake, only a handful of meal in a pitcher, and a little oil in a jar; and behold, I am gathering two sticks and will go in and prepare for myself and for my son; and we shall eat it, and die.

And the Word of Jehovah came to him, saying,

And it happened after many days the Word of Jehovah came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, make yourself seen to Ahab, and I will give rain on the face of the earth.

As Jehovah your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent to seek you; and when they said, He is not here, then he caused the kingdom and the nation to swear that it did not find you.

And Elijah said, As Jehovah of Hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely today I will be seen by him.

And Micaiah said, As Jehovah lives, surely that which Jehovah says to me, that I will speak.

When the heavens are restrained, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against You, and they have prayed toward this place, and confess Your name, and have turned from their sin because You have afflicted them,

And an angel of Jehovah spoke to Elijah the Tishbite, Rise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say to them, Is it because there is not a God in Israel that you are going to ask of Baalzebub the god of Ekron?

And Elisha said, As Jehovah of Hosts lives, before whom I stand, for if I did not regard the face of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah I would not look toward you, and not see you.

And Elisha returned to Gilgal. And the famine was in the land. And the sons of the prophets were sitting before him. And he said to his young man, Set on the big pot and boil soup for the sons of the prophets.

And he said, As Jehovah lives, before whom I stand, I shall not take. And he pressed on him to take, but he refused.

And Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my lord has spared this Syrian, Naaman, not to receive from his hand that which he has brought. As Jehovah lives, surely I will run after him, then I shall take something from him.

And a writing came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, So says Jehovah, the God of your father David, Because you have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat, and in the ways of Asa the king of Judah,

When the heavens shall be shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against You, and they shall pray toward this place, and confess Your name, turning back from their sin because You have afflicted them,

Behold, He holds back the waters, and they dry up; and He sends them out, and they overflow the earth.

Lift up your eyes all around and see! They all gather and come to you. As I live, a statement of Jehovah, you shall surely wear all of them as an ornament, and bind them on as a bride.

And I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned and not hoed; but briers and thorns shall come up. And on the clouds I will command the rain from raining on it.

Among the vanities of the nations are there any who make rain fall? Or can the heavens give showers? Is it not You, O Jehovah our God? Therefore we will wait for You; for You do all these.

So Jehovah says this: If you turn back, even I will bring you back; you shall stand before Me. And if you take the precious from the worthless, you shall be as My mouth. They may turn back to you, but do not turn back to them.

The prophets who have been before me and before you from antiquity prophesied against many lands and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of plague.

Therefore the heavens above you have held back the dew, and the earth is held back from her produce.

And if you are willing to receive, he is Elijah, the one going to come.

And they said, Some say John the Baptist, and others Elijah, and others Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.

And hearing, some of those standing there said, This One calls Elijah.

But the rest said, Let be; let us see if Elijah is coming to save Him.

For He was teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes.

And he will go ahead before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah “to turn the hearts of fathers to their children,” and disobedient ones to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people having been prepared for the Lord. Mal. 4:5, 6

And answering, the angel said to him, I am Gabriel, who stands before God, and I was sent to speak to you and to announce to you the good news of these things.

Therefore keep awake in every time, praying that you be counted worthy to escape all these things, the things being about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.

And, behold, two men talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah,

And it happened in their parting from Him, Peter said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here. And, Let us make three tents, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah, not knowing what he said.

And seeing, His disciples, James and John, said Lord, do You desire that we tell fire to come down from Heaven, and to consume them even as Elijah did? 2 K. 1:10-12

And they asked him, What, then? Are you Elijah? And he said, I am not. Are you the Prophet? And he answered, No.

And they asked him and said to him, Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?

For this night an angel of God stood by me, whose I am, and whom I serve,

“God did not put away His people” whom He foreknew. Psa. 94:14 Or do you not know what the Scripture said in Elijah, how he pleaded with God against Israel, saying,

At that time Jehovah separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant before Jehovah, to stand before Jehovah and to minister to Him, and to bless in His name, until today.

Elijah was a man of like feeling to us, and he prayed in prayer for it not to rain; and it did not rain on the earth three years and six months.

These have the authority to shut up the heaven, that no rain may rain in the days of the prophecy. And they have authority over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they will.

And Jephthah gathered all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim. And the men of Gilead struck Ephraim, because they said, You Gileadites are fugitives from Ephraim, in the midst of Ephraim, in the midst of Manasseh.
