And it happened, at the time Solomon was old, his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, like the heart of his father David.

And Jehovah was angry with Solomon, for his heart had bent away from Jehovah, God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,

And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign. And he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Jehovah chose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put His name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess.

But they did not remove the high places. Only the heart of Asa was perfect with Jehovah all the days.

And he walked in all the sins of his father, those that he did before him, and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as was the heart of his father David.

And Solomon loved Jehovah, to walk in the statutes of his father David. Only, he was sacrificing in high places and burning incense.

And it happened in the four hundred and eightieth year from the going out of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, in the fourth year, in the month of Zif, it is the second month, in the reigning of Solomon over Israel he built the house for Jehovah.

Let your heart therefore be perfect with Jehovah our God, to walk in His statutes, and to keep His commandments, as at this day.

And it happened, at the end of twenty years Solomon had built the two houses, the house of Jehovah and the house of the king.

And you, if you walk before me as your father David walked, in singleness of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, you shall keep My statutes and My judgments;

I pray, O Jehovah, please remember how I have walked always before Your face in truth, and with a perfect heart, and I have done the good in Your eyes. And Hezekiah wept with a great weeping.

And you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a perfect heart, and with a willing mind. For Jehovah searches out all hearts, and He understands every imagination of thoughts. If you shall seek Him, He shall be found by you. But if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.

and give a perfect heart to my son Solomon, to keep Your commandments, Your testimonies, and Your statutes, and to do all, even to build this temple, for which I have prepared.

And Jehovah was with Jehoshaphat, for he walked in the first ways of his father David; and he did not seek to the Baals.

And he did the right in the eyes of Jehovah; only, not with a perfect heart.

And he did the right in the eyes of Jehovah, and walked in the ways of his father David, and did not turn aside to the right or to the left.

You shall not have any other gods before Me.

And he shall not heap up wives to himself, and his heart shall not turn aside. And he shall not greatly heap up to himself silver and gold.

For he will turn your son away from following Me, that they may serve other gods; and the anger of Jehovah will burn against you, and He will destroy you quickly.
