Who serves as a soldier at his own wages ever? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who shepherds a flock and does not eat of the milk of the flock?

and there will be goat’s milk enough for your food, for the food of your household, and for the lives of your maidens.

My vineyard which is mine is before me; the thousand is for you, O Solomon, and two hundred for those keeping of its fruit.

And it shall be, he shall eat curds from the plenty of making of milk; for everyone who is left in the land shall eat curds and honey.

Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and confessed the good confession before many witnesses.

I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith.

Shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, not by compulsion, but willingly, nor eagerly for base gain, but readily;
