But everyone striving controls himself in all things. Then the ones truly that they may receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.

And also if anyone competes, he is not crowned unless he competes lawfully.

Fear nothing of what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some from you into prison, so that you may be tried; and you will have affliction ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and confessed the good confession before many witnesses.

Behold, I am coming quickly. Hold what you have that no one take your crown.

Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because, becoming approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to the ones loving Him.

and with the knowledge self-control, and with the self-control patience, and with the patience godliness,

And at the appearing of the Chief Shepherd, you will receive the never-fading crown of glory.

to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, having been kept in Heaven for you,

Therefore receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us have grace, by which we may serve God well-pleasingly, with reverence and godly fear;

But when this corruptible shall put on incorruption, and this mortal one shall put on immortality, then will come to pass the Word, the one having been written, “Death was swallowed up in victory.” Isa. 25:8

the twenty-four elders fall down before the One sitting on the throne; and they will worship the One living unto the ages of the ages, and will throw their crowns before the throne, saying,

And around the throne I saw twentyfour thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty four elders sitting, having been clothed in white garments. And they had golden crowns on their heads.

but hospitable, a lover of good, selfcontrolled, just, holy, sensible,

aged men to be temperate, honorable, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in patience;
