and not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous one, or with rapacious ones, or with idolaters, since then you must go out of the world.

The Pharisee was standing, praying these things to himself: God, I thank You that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious ones, unrighteous ones, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.

If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.

I revealed Your name to the men whom You have given to Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You have given them to Me; and they have kept Your Word.

I ask concerning them; I do not ask concerning the world, but concerning the ones whom You have given to Me, because they are Yours.

And He said to them, You are from below; I am from above. You are from this world; I am not from this world.

Where is the wise one? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Did God not make the wisdom of this world to be foolish?

And if any of the unbelieving ones invite you, and you desire to go, eat everything set before you, examining nothing because of conscience.

But now I wrote to you not to associate intimately; if anyone being named a brother and is either a fornicator, or a covetous one, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a rapacious one, with such a one not to eat.

I wrote to you in the letter not to associate with fornicators;

in whom the god of this age has blinded the thoughts of the faithless ones, so that the illumination of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine on them.

in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience,

that you may be blameless and guileless, children of God, without fault in the midst of a crooked generation, even being perverted, among whom you shine as luminaries in the world,

They are of the world; because of this, as from the world they speak, and the world hears them.

Beloved ones, let us love one another, because love is from God, and every one who loves has been generated from God, and knows God.

We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the evil.

And the great dragon was cast out, the old serpent, the one being called the devil, even Satan; the one leading astray the whole inhabited earth, was cast into the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.
