Then on that day David first gave by the hand of Asaph and his brothers to give thanks to Jehovah.

And David and the commanders of the army separated some to the service of the sons of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, who were prophets with harps, with lyres and with cymbals. And their number, of the workmen according to their service, was:

of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph at the hands of Asaph, who prophesied at the hands of the king.

For the divisions of the gatekeepers: of the Korhites was Meshelemiah the son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph.

And Hezekiah the king and the leaders commanded the Levites to give praise to Jehovah in the words of David, and of Asaph the seer; and they praised with joy, and they bowed and worshiped.

And the singers, the sons of Asaph, were in their place, according to David’s command, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the seer of the king; and the gatekeepers were at each gate; it was not for them to depart from their service, for their brothers the Levites prepared for them.

and the Levites, singers to all of them, to Asaph, to Heman, to Jeduthun, and to their sons and to their brothers, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, and with harps and lyres, were standing on the east of the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests blowing with trumpets.

The singers: The sons of Asaph, a hundred and twenty-eight.

And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of Jehovah, they made stand the priests in their robes with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals to praise Jehovah, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel.

And Mattaniah the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, was the head of the beginning, he gave thanks with prayer. And Bakbukiah the second from his brothers, and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.

And the overseer of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha. Of the sons of Asaph, the singers were over the work of the house of God.

and many of the priests’ sons with trumpets, Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Michaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph,

For in the past days of David and Asaph, there were heads of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.

The singers: the sons of Asaph were a hundred and forty-eight.

A Psalm of Asaph God, Jehovah God, has spoken, and calls to the earth from the rising of the sun to its going in.

A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are of a pure heart.

A Lesson, of Asaph. O God, have You cast us off forever; will Your anger smoke against the sheep of Your pasture?

And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites. And the sons of Aaron the priest, of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.

And they gave out of the tribe of the sons of Judah, and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, these cities which are called by name,
