Mushi and Mahli were the sons of Merari. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.

Of the sons of Uzziel, Michah was the first and Jesiah the second.

And Eleazar died. And he had no sons, but he had daughters. And their brothers, the sons of Kish, took them.

And David divided them into divisions of the sons of Levi, of Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers:

to Gershon: his son Libni, Jahath, his son, Zimmah, his son,

Shimea, his son, Haggiah, his son, Asaiah, his son.

Eleazar fathered Phinehas, Phinehas fathered Abishua,

And the sons of Merari: Mahli, and Mushi. These were the families of Levi according to their generations.

Of Merari was the Mahlite family and the Mushite family. These were the families of Merari.
