And David said to Gad, It is great distressing to me; now let me fall into the hand of Jehovah, for His mercies are very many; but do not let me fall into the hand of man.

And the servant of the man of God rose up early and went out. And, behold, an army was surrounding the city, and horses and chariots. And his young man said to him, Alas, my lord! What shall we do?

If we say, We shall go into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. If we sit here, then we shall die. Therefore now, come and we will fall into the camp of Syria. If they keep us alive, we shall live. And if they cause us to die, then we die.

And a prophet of Jehovah was there, Oded his name; and he went out before the army that had come in to Samaria, and said to them, Behold, in the fury of Jehovah, the God of your fathers, against Judah, He has given them into your hand, and you have slain among them in rage; it has reached to the heavens.

For all the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces knowing that any man or woman, shall come to the king into the inner court, who is not called, the one law of his is to die; except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden scepter, and he shall live. But I have not been called to come to the king these thirty days.

Go, gather all the Jews being found in Shushan, and fast for me. And do not eat or drink three days, night or day. My maidens and I will also fast in this way. And so I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law. And if I have perished, I have perished.

Jehovah is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in mercy.

Our fathers did not ponder Your wonders in Egypt; they did not remember Your many mercies, and they rebelled at the sea, at the Sea of Reeds.

O Jehovah, Your tender mercies are great; give me life according to Your judgments.

But forgiveness is with You that You may be feared.

Let Israel hope to Jehovah, for with Jehovah is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption;

But I, in the abundance of Your grace, I will come into Your house. I will worship in Your fear toward Your holy temple, O Jehovah.

But as for Me, My prayer is to You, O Jehovah, at a time of favor, O God! in the plenitude of Your mercy answer Me, in the truth of Your salvation.

Hear Me, O Jehovah, for Your mercy is good; in the multitude of Your tender mercies, turn toward Me.

But You, O God, are God, full of pity; and gracious, long before anger and rich in mercy and truth.

For You, O Lord, are good and ready to forgive, and rich in mercy to all who call on You.

The righteous one knows the life of his animal, but the mercies of the wicked ones are cruel.

They lift up it on the shoulder; they lift it up and set it in its place, and it stands; it shall not move from its place. Yea, he cries to it, but it does not answer, it does not save him from his distress.

I was angry with My people; I defiled My inheritance and gave them into your hand. You gave them no compassion; you made your yoke on the aged very heavy.

Let the wicked one forsake his way and the man of iniquity his thoughts, and let him turn back to Jehovah, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will multiply to pardon.

Look down from Heaven and peer from the place of Your holiness and Your glory. Where is Your zeal and Your might? The roaring of Your bowels and Your mercies toward me, are they held back?

I will mention the mercies of Jehovah, the praises of Jehovah, according to all that Jehovah has benefited us, and the great good to the house of Israel, by which He benefited them according to His mercies, and according to the multitude of His loving-kindness.

For if He causes grief, He will have pity according to His many kindnesses.

Who knows? He may turn, and God may be moved to pity and turn back from the anger of His face, that we will not perish.

And he prayed to Jehovah, and said, Please, O Jehovah, was this not my word while I was on my own land? On account of this at first I fled to Tarshish, for I knew that You are a gracious God and compassionate, slow to anger, and great of mercy, and One who has pity over calamity.

Who is a God like You, lifting off iniquity and passing by the transgression of the remnant of His possession? He does not make strong His anger forever, for He delights in mercy.

Jehovah, I have heard Your report; I am afraid, Jehovah. As to Your work, give it life; in the midst of years, in the midst of years make known; in anger remember compassion.

Now My soul is agitated, and what may I say? Father, save Me out of this hour? But on account of this I came to this hour.

For I am pressed together by the two: having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better,

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
