They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun strike them: for he that has mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.

But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Blessed are they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.

Blessed are you that hunger now: for you shall be filled. Blessed are you that weep now: for you shall laugh.

He has filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he has sent empty away.

And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

Look not upon me, because I am dark, because the sun has darkened me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but my own vineyard have I not kept.

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?

For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withers the grass, and its flower falls, and the beauty of the appearance of it perishes: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution arises for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

Yet has he not root in himself, but endures for a while: for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he is offended.

And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, so that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.

And a man shall be as a hiding place from the wind, and a refuge from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

I stretch forth my hands unto you: my soul thirsts after you, as a thirsty land. Selah.

[A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.] O God, you are my God; early will I seek you: my soul thirsts for you, my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

The LORD is your keeper: the LORD is your shade upon your right hand.
