The sorrows of sheol surrounded me: the snares of death confronted me.
The sorrows of death surrounded me, and the pangs of sheol got hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul:
Hear me, O LORD; for your lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of your tender mercies.
For great is your mercy toward me: and you have delivered my soul from the depths of sheol.
For man also knows not his time: as the fish that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.
Whom God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
