When the scoffer is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receives knowledge.

Smite a scoffer, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that has understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

The heart of the prudent gets knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

He that reproves a scoffer gets for himself shame: and he that rebukes a wicked man gets himself injury.
