The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous has hope in his death.

I have waited for your salvation, O LORD.

Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will defend my own ways before him.

He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.

You will show me the path of life: in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

As for me, I will behold your face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with your likeness.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.

Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

Before your pots can feel the burning thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.

You shall guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

Wisdom rests in the heart of him that has understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

For a just man falls seven times, and rises up again: but the wicked shall fall by calamity.

His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sins.

Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.

Lord, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word:

Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and you shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: where I go, you cannot come.

I said therefore unto you, that you shall die in your sins: for if you believe not that I am he, you shall die in your sins.

What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead:

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

For I am in a strait between two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on: Yea, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.
