When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Does this offend you?

It is good neither to eat meat, nor to drink wine, nor anything by which your brother stumbles, or is offended, or is made weak.

Therefore, if food makes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat while the world stands, lest I make my brother to stumble.

But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours becomes a stumbling block to them that are weak.

Giving no offense in anything, that the ministry be not blamed:

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich.

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to them that love him?
