And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marveled at him.

And Pilate asked him, Are you the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, You say it.

Said unto them, You have brought this man unto me, as one that perverts the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man concerning those things of which you accuse him:

And they were the more urgent, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.

Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring you against this man?

They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto you.

And from there on Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If you let this man go, you are not Caesar's friend: whosoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.

Neither can they prove the things of which they now accuse me.

For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.
