Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will respect him when they see him.

And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return everyone from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD has pronounced against this people.

It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

How shall I give you up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver you, Israel? how shall I make you as Admah? how shall I set you as Zeboiim? my heart is turned within me, my compassion is stirred.

O Ephraim, what shall I do unto you? O Judah, what shall I do unto you? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goes away.

What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? why, when I expected that it should bring forth grapes, it brought forth wild grapes?

Therefore, you son of man, prepare you belongings for moving, and move by day in their sight; and you shall move from your place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they are a rebellious house.

Saying, There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, neither regarded man:

And he would not for awhile: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.

But when the tenants saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.
