Behold, in this you are not just: I will answer you, for God is greater than man.

Behold, my terror shall not make you afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon you.

How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?

If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of justice, who shall set me a time to plead?

If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.

Yet shall you plunge me in the ditch, and my own clothes shall abhor me.

And enter not into judgment with your servant: for in your sight shall no man living be justified.

Whatever has been is named already, and it is known that this is man: neither may he contend with him that is mightier than he.

Woe unto him that strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashions it, What do you make? or of your work, He has no hands?

Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the thickets of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will arraign me? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Nay but, O man, who are you that replies against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why have you made me thus?

For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.
