Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold your peace, and I will speak.

Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.

How long will it be before you make an end of words? consider, and afterwards we will speak.

Hear diligently my speech, and let this be your consolation.

Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, while you searched out what to say.

To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of life.

If you have any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify you.

For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD, and has perceived and heard his word? who has marked his word, and heard it?
