The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.

And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.

Your lips, O my spouse, drop like the honeycomb: honey and milk are under your tongue; and the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.

So shall he startle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

Son of man, set your face toward the south, and proclaim your word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field;

Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and proclaim your word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,

When Ephraim spoke trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended through Baal worship, he died.

Now therefore hear you the word of the LORD: you say, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not your word against the house of Isaac.

Prophesy not, they say to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not be shamed.

And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod at its entrances: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he comes into our land, and when he treads within our borders.

And no man was able to answer him a word, neither dared any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

My teaching shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
