How have you helped him that is without power? how save you the arm that has no strength?

Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength fails.

No doubt you are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.

How forceful are right words! but what does your arguing prove?

Is my strength the strength of stones? or is my flesh of bronze?

And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is busy, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he sleeps, and must be awaked.

With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding?

What is my strength, that I should hope? and what is my end, that I should prolong my life?

Is not my help within me? and is wisdom driven quite from me?

But Job answered and said,

How have you counseled him that has no wisdom? and how have you plentifully declared the thing as it is?

Behold, all you yourselves have seen it; why then are you thus altogether vain?
