The discretion of a man delays his anger; and it is his glory to overlook a transgression.

For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall surround us, and cut off our name from the earth: and what will you do for your great name?

Thus says the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.

But I had pity because of my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, where they went.
