What shall I say? he has both spoken unto me, and he himself has done it: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul.

And another dies in the bitterness of his soul, and never eats with pleasure.

Therefore I will not restrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.

I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my supplications.

Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

Behold, for my peace I had great bitterness: but you have in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for you have cast all my sins behind your back.

Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

O Lord, what shall I say, when Israel turns their backs before their enemies!

And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept bitterly.
