For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: the stalk has no bud: it shall yield no meal: if so be it does yield, the aliens shall swallow it up.

He that sows iniquity shall reap trouble: and the rod of his anger shall fail.

Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.

And this also is a great evil, that just as he came, so shall he go: and what profit has he who has labored for the wind?

The fruit of your land, and all your labors, shall a nation which you know not eat up; and you shall be only oppressed and crushed continually:

For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfies not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat you that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in richness.

Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even their beloved children.

You have sown much, and bring in little; you eat, but you have not enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he that earns wages earns wages to put it into a bag with holes.

And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and dried by the east wind, sprung up after them:
