And if a man borrow anything of his neighbor, and it be hurt, or dies, the owner of it being not with it, he shall surely make it good.

There were also those that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tax, and that upon our lands and vineyards.

The wicked borrows, and pays not again: but the righteous shows mercy, and gives.

The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.

Then shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he has not put his hand unto his neighbor's goods; and the owner of it shall accept the oath, and he shall not make it good.

If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it as evidence, and he shall not make good that which was torn.

But if the owner of it be with it, he shall not make it good: if it be a hired thing, it came for its hire.

And he that kills an animal shall make it good; animal for animal.

Give to him that asks you, and from him that would borrow of you turn not away.

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lends anything unto his neighbor shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbor, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD'S release.
