He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who has hardened himself against him, and has prospered?

Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.

Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God rules in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and struck in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead corpses.

And it came to pass, as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat: and Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor a fire to sit before.

But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in justice, and God who is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.

Therefore as the fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Since as there is none like unto you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is great in might.

Now also many nations are gathered against you, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion.

Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the eastern sea, and half of them toward the western sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

For thus says the LORD of hosts; After his glory has he sent me unto the nations which plundered you: for he that touches you touches the apple of his eye.

For, behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the barn; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?

There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rides upon the heaven to your help, and in his excellency on the clouds.

For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

For our God is a consuming fire.
