My God, think you upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear.

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and pipes.

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing: you have put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels.

Bless you God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.

Take a psalm, and bring here the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

But every woman that prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head: for that is one and the same as if she were shaven.

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be submissive, as also says the law.

And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with timbrels, with joy, and with instruments of music.
