The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow him up.

And David said unto him, Your blood be upon your head; for your mouth has testified against you, saying, I have slain the LORD’S anointed.

But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips would relieve your grief.

The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails firmly fixed by the masters of assemblies, which are given by one shepherd.

The fool folds his hands together, and eats his own flesh.

Be not rash with your mouth, and let not your heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in heaven, and you upon earth: therefore let your words be few.

Permit not your mouth to cause your flesh to sin; neither say before the angel, that it was an error: why should God be angry at your voice, and destroy the work of your hands?

The words of wise men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that rules among fools.

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

And he said unto him, Out of your own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was a severe man, taking up what I laid not down, and reaping what I did not sow:

And all bore him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man.
