You shall not pervert judgment; you shall not show partiality, neither take a bribe: for a bribe does blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

He that puts not out his money at interest, nor takes reward against the innocent. He that does these things shall never be moved.

Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:

You shall not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shall you testify in a dispute to follow after a crowd to pervert judgment:

Neither shall you be partial to a poor man in his cause.

He that is greedy of gain troubles his own house; but he that hates bribes shall live.

A wicked man takes a bribe out of the bosom to pervert the ways of justice.

It is not good to be partial to the wicked, or to overthrow the righteous in judgment.

These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have partiality in judgment.

Be not a witness against your neighbor without cause; and deceive not with your lips.

Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the justice of any of the afflicted.

Surely oppression makes a wise man mad; and a bribe destroys the heart.

Learn to do good; seek justice, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Your princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: everyone loves bribes, and follows after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither does the cause of the widow come before them.

He that walks righteously, and speaks uprightly; he that despises the gain of oppressions, that keeps his hands from the holding of bribes, that stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil;

They have grown fat, they shine: yea, they pass over the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not defend.

He that has not lent money for interest, neither has taken any increase, that has withdrawn his hand from iniquity, has executed true justice between man and man,

In you have they taken bribes to shed blood; you have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained from your neighbors by extortion, and have forgotten me, says the Lord GOD.

You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: you shall not be partial to the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor.

That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asks, and the judge asks for a bribe; and the great man, he utters his evil desire: so they weave it together.

Therefore the law is slacked, and justice does never go forth: for the wicked does surround the righteous; therefore perverse judgment proceeds.

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out secretly? nay verily; but let them come themselves and bring us out.

Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite you, you whitewashed wall: for do you sit to judge me after the law, and command me to be smitten contrary to the law?

For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, mighty, and awesome, who regards not persons, nor takes reward:

Judges and officers shall you make in all your gates, which the LORD your God gives you, throughout your tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment.

You shall not pervert the justice due the stranger, nor the fatherless; nor take a widow's clothing as pledge:

Cursed be he that perverts the justice due the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Cursed be he that takes a bribe to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose donkey have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind my eyes with? and I will restore it to you.

And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.

And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after gain, and took bribes, and perverted justice.
