And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at evening he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.
But Uriah slept at the door of the king’s house with all the servants of his lord, and went not down to his house.
Then said Absalom, If not, I pray you, let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said unto him, Why should he go with you?
And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto you, that you have brought so great a sin upon them?
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
Who has woe? who has sorrow? who has contentions? who has babbling? who has wounds without cause? who has redness of eyes?
Woe unto him that gives his neighbor drink, that presses your wineskin to him, and makes him drunk also, that you may look on his nakedness!
