Thus did Uriah the priest, according to all that king Ahaz commanded.

And Uriah the priest built an altar according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus: so Uriah the priest made it before king Ahaz came from Damascus.

And king Ahaz commanded Uriah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening grain offering, and the king’s burnt sacrifice, and his grain offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their grain offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: and the bronze altar shall be for me to inquire by.

And king Ahaz cut off the panels of the stands, and removed the laver from off them; and took down the sea from off the bronze oxen that were under it, and put it upon a pavement of stones.

And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.

Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be forever.

And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.

For the priest's lips should preserve knowledge, and they should seek the law from his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge you.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, who tests our hearts.

Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.
