What is man, that he should be clean? and he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.

Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer you? I will lay my hand upon my mouth.

If I justify myself, my own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am blameless, it shall also prove me perverse.

If you, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

And enter not into judgment with your servant: for in your sight shall no man living be justified.

Who can understand his errors? cleanse me from secret faults.

My foot stands in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.

Many seek the ruler's favor; but every man's judgment comes from the LORD.

And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.

(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

For if Abraham were justified by works, he has something in which to boast; but not before God.

But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not my own self.

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may be recompensed for the things done in his body, according to what he has done, whether it be good or bad.
