And there being much dissension, the captain of a thousand, having dreaded lest Paul be torn asunder by them, commanded the army, having gone down, to snatch him from the midst of them, and bring into the camp.

Taking thee away from people, and nations, to whom I now send thee.

Therefore having obtained assistance from God, till this day do I stand, testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what both the prophets and Moses spake being about to be:

For I will show him what he must suffer for my name.

That I might be saved from the unbelieving in Judea; and that my service for Jerusalem be acceptable to the holy ones;

For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so by Christ abounds also our comfort.

And our hope firm for you, knowing, that as ye are participators of the sufferings, so also of the comfort.

Therefore am I contented in weaknesses, in reproaches, in necessities in expulsions, in extremities for Christ: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

I have contended earnestly the good contest, I have completed the course, I have kept the faith:

The Lord knows to deliver the religious out of temptation, and to keep the unjust restrained for the day of judgment;
