(as it is written, I have made you a father of many nations). Such a faith implies the presence of the God in whom he believed, a God who makes the dead live and calls into being what does not exist.

God has chosen what is mean and despised in the world — things which are not, to put down things that are;

for as the Father raises the dead and makes them live, so the Son makes anyone live whom he chooses.

It is by faith we understand that the world was fashioned by the word of God, and thus the visible was made out of the invisible.
