Now when Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew to Galilee; —
After John had been arrested, Jesus went to Galilee preaching the gospel of God;
crowned all by shutting John up in prison.
For Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison on account of Herodias the wife of his brother Philip,
(John had not yet been thrown into prison).
Then Jesus came back in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and the news of him spread over all the surrounding country.
For this Herod had sent and arrested John and bound him in prison on account of his marriage to Herodias the wife of his brother Philip;
This was the second Sign which Jesus performed again after leaving Judaea for Galilee.
When the two days were over, he left for Galilee
Then he went down to Capharnahum, a town of Galilee, and on the sabbath he taught the people;
Now when John heard in prison what the Christ was doing, he sent his disciples
But they insisted, "He stirs up the people by teaching all over Judaea. He started from Galilee and now he is here."
Next day Jesus determined to leave for Galilee; there he met Philip and told him, "Follow me."
Jesus performed this, the first of his Signs, at Cana in Galilee, thereby displaying his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
