Then he went forward a little and fell on his face praying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass me. Yet, not what I will but what thou wilt."

for I have come down from heaven not to carry out my own will but the will of him who sent me,

and appearing in human form, he humbly stooped in his obedience even to die, and to die upon the cross.

for false Christs and false prophets will rise and bring forward great signs and wonders, so as to mislead the very elect, — if that were possible.

Then I fell before his feet to worship him; but he said to me, "No, not that! I am but a servant like yourself and your brothers, who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God" (for the testimony borne by Jesus is the breath of all prophecy).

Peter was just going into the house when Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and worshipped him;

and he fell on his face at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. The man was a Samaritan.

for false Christs and false prophets will rise and perform signs and wonders to mislead the elect if they can.

So Jesus made this answer to them: "Truly, truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, nothing but what he sees the Father doing; for whatever he does, the Son also does the same.
