Jesus looked at them and said, "This is impossible for men, but anything is possible for God."

for with God nothing is ever impossible."

He said, "What is impossible for men is possible for God."

Jesus looked at them and said, "For men it is impossible, but not for God: anything is possible for God."

When the disciples heard this they were utterly astounded; they said, "Who then can possibly be saved?"

Then Peter replied, "Well, we have left our all and followed you. Now what are we to get?"

it is impossible to make them repent afresh, since they crucify the Son of God in their own persons and hold him up to obloquy.
